There are multi aspects to pleasant climate of Portugal, Atlantic felt in North, continental and Mediterranean that dominates south. Almost all parts of country experiences similar temperature to Spain though effect of climate on vegetation. During the winter Season average maximum temperature is about 16 Degree C, there are 5 to 6 sunshine hours daily. Spring months are gradually warm up having average maximum temperature that is up to 22 Degree for 10 sunshine hours daily. In summer temperature is around 25 Degree C for 11 to 12 hours of sunshine daily.
 
 

Parts of northern region benefits Atlantic cyclones while in east and South are dominated by subtropical anticyclone, which allow temperature to rise during summer.

Generally climate is neither cool cold nor hot, it depends of area and time of year that you chose for visit that country. Fall and spring are also definitely best times of all year, in that time tourists should visit country. Winter starts from November or some time December to February or early March, central and north regions including Lisbon, winter is chilly and rainy. Usually weather stays warm from the month of May to September. Algarve is the moderate year, with extremely sunshine and hot summer even in winter, the midsummer is extremely hot and evening breeze cools temperature down along coast.

 

Algarve is moderate around the year, there is hot summer and lot of sunshine in winter even, Midsummer is very hot in the Alentejo, evening breeze cools temperature down to coast. Climate is mild in Madiera, less or more constant year with high temperature in summer. Island has 2 different climates actually. Nearly 2000 meter high mountains in middle stop rain coming from north side. It gives lot of rain in mountain and on north side. South side gets lot of rain, mostly as showers and the primarily in winter. Country has diverse climate from the north to south.
